eye on the news

so apparently Osamayourmama was planning on buying a ton of cocaine, poisoning it, and then selling it again inside the US a year after 9/11. so apparently Osama was trying to hit us where it hurts, cocaine addicts... what makes the story better is that the Columbian drug lords didn't do it because it would probably be bad for business. amazing that the business acuity of drug lords averted the loss of thousands of lives in the US.

a liberal washington thinktank (the washington post's words, not mine) came up with how much it would cost to kick out all the illegals. $41 billion. that apparently is thinking we'd have to kick out every one. i'd think a lot would leave if a major crack down would come. either that or more would be about trying to become a legal, tax paying citizen. I say the government cracks down on people who employ them, starts watching the southern border, and just starts doing some round ups here and there at your average Home Depot and that would do a lot. I know people around here refused to show their face when just rumors of round ups spread. that would free up a major section of employment, force employers to pay fair wages, and increase the tax revenue of states like California which are majorly in the hole because they have to pay for all these people to use our streets, schools, hospitals, and more.

sony got busted for paying radio stations to play their music. does this mean that not as many people like crappy music as expected? here's a list i came up with of certain Sony artists i hope are only popular musically because they've been forced down people's throats: Jessica Simpson, JLo, Good Charlotte, John Mayer, Celine Dion, and Mandy Moore. Unfortunately, there is no apparent excuse for Maroon 5 or Ashlee Simpson.

Alex Smith, number one draft pick of the 49ers, signed today for 49.5 million. good job 49ers. you've made him a top five paid QB and he wasn't even the best player in the draft.

so here in the LA area, asian women where these face shields outside and I've wondered forever why in the world they do. they are these foolish looking blast shields that look like a welders mask. apparently they do it to keep pale, white skin. wow, are they in the wrong place to stay white.

there was a proposition that was trying to get on the ballot to redistrict out here, but some crazy judge who didn't understand things kicked it out. the way things are out here, there is not competition for the offices, so many politicians just do whatever they want to do, knowing that they'll get reelected no matter what. there is no democracy in refusing to redistrict and allow for people to choose rightly who they want serving them. have politicians forgotten who pays them and who gets them into office? yes, yes they have.

and finally, the democratic party has finally realized they have no philosophical points to call their own other than 'opposite of whatever republicans want.' but instead of seeing what the democratic voters want, they're letting their politicians decide what their talking points are going to be. it took them awhile to realize that many of the republican points in the latest elections were historically democratic in their thinking. There was a lot of talk about social issues and focusing on bringing up the inner cities and education and stuff like that. but now the democratic party's stances are going to be dictated by Hilary Clinton, instead of the voters who got her where she and the rest of the democratic office holders are.
